In the morning we visited the fort and saw the walls around the city. The structure is very impressive and the interior has been turned into a museum with lots of artifacts including a sword collection and suit of armour. I'm so glad that I paid the camera fee and took lots of photos. The proceeds from the gift shop go to the restoration fund so we could shop with a clear conscience.
On the way we stopped at a royal cenotaph and I think I liked this best. It was such a beautiful building and so peaceful.
In the afternoon we visited a Bishnoi village that had to be reached by jeep and saw traditional crafts and an opium ceremony. One of the ladies bought a durrie rug (credit card and FedEx) and I admit it was very tempting and beautiful. The villagers seemed to have worked out a way to preserve their old ways of life by making them a tourist attraction and while it was a fun afternoon, it made me more than a bit uncomfortable.
