Bharapur revisited

I must have been sleeping when I wrote up Bharatpur because I forgot both the best thing and the second best thing. When we checked in the reception clerk handed me an enormous bouquet of beautiful roses and other flowers decorated in elaborate Indian fashion with a lovely note from my David to celebrate our last week in India. It made the other ladies jealous and me very happy. My request for a vase totally confused the staff but the flowers got their own staff escort and we found a water carafe in the room that did the trick nicely and enjoyed them for our whole stay! That was the best thing.
The second day after our afternoon by the pool met a young man, maybe 12, selling puppets. He was really sweet and funny and told us how his family made them. Before dinner we went back to see the puppet show and it was terrific. There was a snake charmer and horse rider and a magician named Michael Jackson, all marionettes.
