Today was a long drive, about eight hours with breaks but our driver only got lost once when our highway suddenly turned into a rough rural road. . It was quickly sorted out not like the road construction and divergences (detours) and railway crossings.
At one of our bathroom stops we found McDonald's and the first real coffee in a week. There is lots of Nescafé here. I'm sticking to chai.
Other than his sense of direction our driver is terrific. He is easy going with a good sense of humour and puts up with a lot of teasing. He is also a kind young man giving money to the children begging by the side of the road and to the woman who got angry at us for taking pictures of her cows sleeping at the gas pumps.
Today's hotel is truly five star, a palatial heritage home. The first thing we did was book spa appointments. I have just had my first mani and pedi. Good bye desert sand!
